Frequently Asked Questions
-
Each night includes 10 hours of in-home support from a trusted, trained postpartum doula. Services include newborn care, feeding support, light sleep shaping, and emotional check-ins for parents.
-
We LOVE when babies sleep! And we don’t want our families to pay for a service they don’t need. We make it easy to wrap up contracts if things are going great!
-
Our overnight services are billed at $50/hr with a minimum shift being 10 hrs.
If you would like to add Sleep Shaping (after your baby is 6 weeks old), the nights a sleep coach is with you providing that service is billed at $75/hr.
-
Our retainer is the same for every family regardless of how many nights per week you book.
Our retainer is $1500 due at the signing of the contract. $500 is a one-time onboarding fee and $1000 covers 2 nights of care.
The retainer is applied to the last 2 nights of care. When we get started, you are invoiced every Monday morning at 9am for any services used the previous calendar week. This continues as we work through your schedule whether its a couple of weeks or the full 4 months.
We will be in communication about a wrap up date and once that approaches, your retainer will be applied and you will be wrapped up with us from there!
You can use your retainer at any point - even if its earlier than expected! We want our services to be fully customizable to your exact needs in real time.
-
Yes — our services are HSA/FSA eligible. We can provide an invoice for reimbursement if needed.
-
Our retainer covers 2 nights of care, so that is the minimum number of nights you would need to use. We do not have a minimum number of nights, as some families want to book us for 1 night a week.

We’re based in Kansas City and serve families as far north as St Joseph, as far east as Warrensburg, as far south as Harrisonville and as far west as Manhattan KS.
A travel fee may apply for locations beyond those points.
We also provide travel services upon request. But this must be booked at least 6 months in advance.

Yes! I have yet to meet a parent who knows exactly what kind of support they will need before their baby arrives. We do recommend front-loading your schedule so you have an abundance of support. It is often easier to drop nights than it is add nights in on our end. However, we try to leave some wiggle room in our schedules to accommodate our families’ needs!
Just reach out to Mary, our Family Care Coordinator, if there are any changes you need to make to your schedule!

Working in the world of babies, we are so used to rolling with when they decide to arrive!
We ask for as much communication as possible as we approach your due date and just let Mary know any updates that you have. She will also check in with you to make sure there aren’t any lingering questions left unanswered.
Even if your baby arrives a month early, because we work in teams it is very easy for us to be ready to jump right in when you are ready for us!
-
This is a question we get a lot - especially when parents are booking services so far early in their pregnancy! We will always take a heart-forward, people-first approach.
If you book us early in your pregnancy and experience a loss at any point, we will always offer a full refund.
If your baby arrives and has health complications that are out of our scope of supporting a family, we can either offer a full refund and help you find resources that can better support your needs, or we can, as doulas, provide daytime support to lessen the load that comes with navigating health complications.
